Nov 24th Eureka Update

Greetings to All!

I just want to tell everyone for those of you that were unable to participate in the flight today . . . you missed lots of fun! It was a smooth flight going and coming home. The scenery was fantastic! We got to attend the Christmas Open House sale at the airport which was complete with lots of various aviation oriented purchases.

We had a nice taxi ride into town and then a great lunch at the Lost Coast Brewery. We then enjoyed a walk around the old town of Eureka. Wonderful old decorative buildings, lots of interesting shops, great cup of coffee, a new water front development that provided fabulous ocean/bay scenery, and a return flight along the beach for an ocean fix for those of us who love the sea. Lots of pictures were taken to share.

We are sorry for those who were not able to join us. We all agreed that it is a return destination in our future. We will keep you posted.

Aug. 11 Fly Out

To all Aero club members.

The Saturday,Aug. 11, mission we will be flying to Quincy (2O1). Departure time is 8:00 A.M.Quincy is 63 miles on a heading of 97 degrees a very beautiful flight.

The forty-niners called the Quincy area "the Lost Sierra." Sprawling over the northernmost reaches of the Sierra Nevada, heavily forested Plumas County, where Quincy is the county seat, may seem as remote today as its goldfields were in 1850. But the mountain town and its environs are well worth the long drive for travelers who like their nature and solitude seasoned with rural comfort.

Saturday 21 Jul Flyout [Updated]

Gene heard that this Saturday there is a (free?) breakfast in Corning. A short hop for us.
Departure time is 8am.

Dave I. has an update:

"I believe what they are talking about is in the Colusa fly-in. The Corning guys are going. It starts at 7:30 to 10:30 for breakfast and they serve lunch after that until about 1:30. Breakfast is free to the pilot and $5 for the passengers. It includes raffles, prizes and maybe judging. It can turn into an all day thing.

Corning, Rainbow aviation, will be on their way to Oshkosh Saturday. No one I talked to knows anything about breakfast in Corning."

So, it looks like Colusa! http://airnav.com/airport/O08 ...Thanks Dave!

Pima Air Museum/AMARC flyout

To All Aero Club Members,

This message is a follow up to our discussion at the last Aero Club meeting regarding a fly out in April. Plans are being finalized for a tour of the Pima Air Museum and the AMARC bone yard. Pima is one of the largest privately owned museums in the world with over 250 aircraft on display. AMARC is one of the largest aircraft bone yards with everything from Trackers and B-52 to F-15 stored and being dismantled.

We will be flying out April 5th, and returning on April 7th. We will be staying in Tucson at the Holiday Inn Palo Verde for $79.00 + Tax per. Night. I have made a contract for a block of 10 rooms (nine with a king size bed and one with two double size beds). I will also be reserving a van for transportation depending on the number of people going. Presently we have RSVPs for Dave & Dianne Anders, Bob & Mary Jean Bruce, Gene & Judy Evans, Lance Gingell, Larry Black and Dave & Teresa Ireland . Everyone interested in participating in the fly-out please contact me.

This will prove to be a great trip!!!! Look forward to hearing from you.
